Instructions:
1. Rinse and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. In a pot, heat oil or ghee, add sliced onions, and sauté until golden. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies; cook for 2 minutes.
3. Stir in tomatoes, biryani masala, turmeric, and your choice of meat or vegetables. Cook until the meat is done or vegetables are tender.
4. Add the drained rice and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until rice is cooked (about 15-20 minutes).
5. Fluff the rice, garnish with coriander and mint, and serve with raita.
